Junior Citizens

The club hosts the Boroughs Junior Citizens Event which sees over 1000 children visit Kingfield each year to learn about fire safety, stranger danger, internet safety, kitchen safety, first aid, life saving  and anti social behaviour

Hospital Visits

The players and members of the club visit three Hospitals over the Christmas period delivering presents to the children wards as well as individual gifts. In addition for the children individual presents were given. The club also visited elderly residents in the Kingfield area and presented them with Christmas food hampers

Sport Relief

The Community team have always supported the borough's Sport Releif activities. KC Kat helps participants warm up before competing in the mile running race with them. Other Community team members have held fun penalty shootout competition as well as also taking part in the race.

Kingsleigh

Every tuesday members of the Community Team visit Kingsleigh Care Home in old Woking. Kingsleigh is a 67 bedded home for people suffering from dementia. The weekly session consist of chair based exercises and games. We have also paid for singer to come and entertain the residents. In addition to our weekly visits we have also taken the residents out to lunch, to play crazy golf and to a Christmas concert.

Penalty Shootout Competitions

A fund raising initiative with local football teams whereby children gain sponsorship for penalties taken against either the Woking goal keeper or club mascot KC Kat.

 

Prizes are awarded to children raising the most money and funds split between the football team and community scheme. Goldsworth Park Rangers recently took part in the Penalty Shootout Competition where they made over £2000 for charity!

Disability

To make a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities. To ensure that disabled children and adults get an opportunity to participate in football at his or her level.

Health

To improve health and wellbeing within the community in which we work. By tackling the rise in obesity and mental health problems and caring for the wellbeing of children and adults Cards in the Community aims to improve understanding of the key issues.

Social Inclusion

We aim to engage disadvantaged children, young people and adults to help them improve their lives through football. By working in partnership with police and other youth organisations we will be able to target areas where help is most needed.

Trips to Kingfield

The Community scheme welcomes schools to Kingfield on a regular basis. Yearly visitors are St Dunstan’s School. Children are shown the Boardroom, Dressing Rooms, Kit Room. They also get to try on the Woking team kit, as part of their visit they are asked to design a new Woking shirt with the winners being chosen by the players and presented with a signed ball.

 

Other schools visit the club as part of their maths lessons, they measure the pitch, count seats in the stand, estimate how high the floodlights are.

 

These visits are always popular with children any school wishing to take up this option should call the Community dept for details.

Christmas Dinner

Each year the Community team have a Christmas lunch at the Club. Around 40 men join us for a hand cooked Christmas meal with all the trimmings. Every year we attempt to find speakers to entertain the guests.

Christmas Hampers

Each year the Club delivers Christmas Hampers to the elderly residents around the Kingfield area. If you know anyone who would be deserving of a suprise Christmas gift please the Community department know.

Pancake Race

Add Description here.The Community team supports shopmobility in their annual pancake race. KC Kats runs in the mascot race. If you are in the town square on Pancake Day please come and say hello.
